The Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Joe Flacco’s agent are schedule to meet during the NFL combine in Indianapolis according to ESPN’s Adam Caplan.
Flacco’s salary-cap number is $28.55 million, which is the third-highest in the NFL this season. It ranks behind only New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees ($30 million) and Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh ($28.6 million).
Baltimore is definitely looking to create some cap space before free agency begins March 9. The Ravens currently have the second-least amount of cap space in the entire league and missed the playoffs last season.
General Manager Ozzie Newsome is expected to put the franchise tag on kickerJustin Tucker ($4.5 million) and a second-round tender on restricted free agent Kamar Aiken ($2.5 million). If Flacco doesn’t redo his contract and the Ravens follow through with those moves, they are left with zero cap space.
Flacco, 31, is scheduled make $58.6 million over the final three years of the six-year, $120.6 million contract he signed in March 2013.
