ESPN to introduce ‘Backseat Coaches Perspective’ during Illinois-Indiana game

ESPN has been getting very creative with its college basketball broadcasts this year. Last week they introduced a court side camera angle view during the Michigan-Ohio State game, which did not get favorable reviews.

This week in their Illinois-Indiana broadcast, they will be introducing “Backseat Coaches Perspective.” This new twist will feature Rece Davis sitting in the traditional sideline seat, commentating, but then Seth Greenberg and Dan Dakich will sit behind each team’s bench, giving fans a perspective of what each coach is thinking.

Certainly sounds like an more enjoyable gimmick than the court side camera.
