In celebration of the franchise’s 20th anniversary, Nintendo is hosting a Pokemon-themed Nintendo Direct event on Friday. But that isn’t the big story to come out of this.
According to reports, as well as leaked trademark documents, Nintendo is set to announce two new entries to the Pokemon series on Friday: Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon. No other information is known regarding the games, but it should be expected that the titles will be available for the Nintendo 3DS. Though, imagine if they announce a full console version of a Pokemon game for the first time ever?
Hell, it would make since with this being such a big anniversary for the popular role-playing game franchise. That being said, that’s a pipe dream for fans of the series, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up for that.
Nintendo Direct starts at 10am ET on Friday. Campus Sports will have full details on the announced titles as it comes in.
