Hard Knocks is one of the biggest shows on HBO.
The show follows a team throughout training camp, showcasing practices, cuts and personalities of the coaches and players. And while some teams have embraced it, other teams just don’t want to be on the show.
One of those teams happens to be the New Orleans Saints.
According to Pro Football Talk, the Saints are “bracing for the possibility” that the NFL will make them the subject of the annual reality series. In addition to the Saints, six other teams — Bears, Bills, Chargers, Jaguars, Raiders and Rams — wouldn’t be able to decline the NFL’s request for being on the show due to league criteria.
Should the Saints be on the show, it would be interesting to see how Drew Brees, Sean Payton and Mark Ingram are on the practice field as well as away from it. The team is going into 2016 with an expectation to improve over the disappointing 7-9 campaign in 2015.
With Payton’s personality, as PFT points out, the HBO cameras may not be allowed in the room when players are being cut. That issue alone may force the NFL to choose a different organization to feature like, say, a team that just moved to Los Angeles.
