Clemson CB Mackensie Alexander gave interview for the ages at NFL Scouting Combine

Clemson cornerback Mackensie Alexander hasn’t worked out at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis yet, but still managed to provide an interview for the ages, which may be seen here in its entirety. Speaking to reporters, Alexander declared himself the best cornerback prospect in the 2016 NFL Draft class and offered his own personal take on wide receiver prospects Laquon Treadwell and Will Fuller.

In fact, Alexander’s comments on Fuller were posted to Twitter by Chris Burke of Sports Illustrated.

If there’s one thing that we now CAN’T say about Alexander, it’s that he’s confident and knows the game. Moreover, considering how Fuller was held to two catches for 37 yards when Notre Dame played Clemson in 2015, his assessment of his fellow NFL Draft prospect could be viewed as valid.

Just the same, as can be seen in the full interview, Alexander seems a bit cocky when comparing himself to great NFL corners in Darrelle Revis and Jason Verrette. He certainly was a great shutdown corner at Clemson but until that talent replicates itself on the professional level, better for him to stay humble and not puff his chest out when he hasn’t even faced off with a top NFL receiver yet.
