On Thursday, former Ole Miss wide receiver and top NFL Draft wide receiver prospect Laquon Treadwell was asked about who he thought the best cornerback he has faced was. He made it a point to say “not Vernon Hargreaves” and mention “the younger one” from Florida, referring to Jalen Tabor.
It looks like Hargreaves caught wind of those comments and responded on Saturday. He decided to take the high road and play rather nice with his comments going so far as to call Treadwell the best wide receiver in the Draft.
“He can do everything,” Hargreaves said according to SEC Country. “He’s big, fast, strong. Catches the ball in traffic. There’s not a lot you can do to get the ball off of him.”
The two have had some bad blood between each for some time now and it seems to be spilling over into the NFL. However, Hargreaves wants to move past all of that, which is a sign of maturity for one of the top defensive backs in the NFL.
Despite the two trying to move on, you can only hope the two are drafted to big-time rival teams which guarantees them to meet up on the field again.
