Kristaps Porzingis is easily one of the best rookies in the NBA right now and is likely the frontrunner for the Rookie of the Year Award. He is turning into a huge celebrity in the country and it looks like he just received his first prom invitation.
17-year-old Sam Miller took a chance and asked the New York Knicks superstar to her high school prom earlier this week. It was pretty bold move of her to ask arguably one of the most recognizable faces in the NBA this year out to an event like that.
Okay I've been planning this for a while.. Serious question @kporzee Will you go to prom with me? #KnicksonMSG pic.twitter.com/tr2pl5yZT4

Nice Ric Flair reference by the way. She even went to a Knicks game and got the chance to meet her favorite player’s dad. The stage seemed pretty set for her to get her wish.
Just met @kporzee 's dad!! Seriously one of the nicest guys, he told me he has seen my sign too! pic.twitter.com/hfum13IR0X

Unfortunately for Miller, Porzingis said he couldn’t go with her to the prom because of him being out of the country. He did, however, take to Twitter and tweet her a personal video, so that has to count for something.

Hey, but Miller is certainly a good looking girl. It would be kind of hard for anybody else to say no to her.
You can’t really fault her for trying though. It’s not every day you get the chance to ask a professional athlete out on a date.
