Ohio State TE Nick Vannett compares himself to Rob Gronkowski

To say that the tight end position in this year’s NFL Draft is pretty weak would be an understatement. There is no tight end that sticks out as an immediate impact player this year, but one player believes he could compare to one of the best in the NFL today.

Former Ohio State tight Nick Vannett spoke with reporters during a press conference at the NFL Scouting Combine and seemed pretty confident in his abilities. He believes that his the best tight end in the 2016 NFL Draft and compared himself to New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

I don’t think anyone can really disagree that Vannett is a highly-talented tight end, but it’s hard to believe that he compares to Gronkowski. He did, however, record 220 yards and five touchdowns during the 2014 season.

I guess former Buckeyes are pretty confident in their chances in the 2016 NFL Draft. We will just have to wait and see what all these players can do at the Draft in April.
