Expect more applicants to the University of New Hampshire after they started the first Beer Brewing minor

The University of New Hampshire is proof that the United States of America is the home of innovation, especially when it comes to higher education. Going where no other university has ever gone before, UNH is embracing the micro/home/indie-brew-crazed times and for the first time in the history of American higher education, offering its students the opportunity to minor in brewing to match the beer brewing industry’s growing workforce demand.

The University’s Vice President of Academic Affairs, P.T. Vasudevan informed the press that the new program equips students with the skills to easily apply to any of New Hampshire’s 50 breweries alone.

This will definitely help the beer brewing industry, that is without a doubt, but it is also great to see that there are educational institutions that are in touch with the current economy. How many times do students say, “when am I going to use this in the real world?” Well now, they have absolutely no excuse.
