Mike Mayock says Robert Nkemdiche has ‘all the talent in the world’

Ole Miss defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche kept himself as one of the most intriguing names in the 2016 NFL Draft Class, running a 4.87 40 yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis today, and NFL Network draft guru Mike Mayock made an interesting comment about the former top recruit.

Mayock’s analysis is right on the nose. Nkemdiche arrived at Ole Miss in 2013 as a five-star recruit from the Atlanta area and the No. 1 overall recruit in the nation and though he has proven to have a tremendous amount of talent, his draft stock has recently gone up and down thanks to a series of off-field issues despite his having 81 tackles and six sacks in three years at Ole Miss, not to mention showing prowess on the offensive side too.

But Nkemdiche’s job right now is proving that his talent will overshadow his issues off the field. Last December, he was arrested for marijuana possession after falling out of the four-story window of an Atlanta hotel and was suspended for the Sugar Bowl, and admitted this week that he was drunk at the time. In the NFL, that behavior won’t fly.

Hopefully, Mayock’s analysis serves as a motivator for Nkemdiche.
