Taylor Decker gave Combine cleats to boy who battled cancer

Ohio State offensive lineman and future 2016 NFL Draft pick Taylor Decker upped his stock in the community outreach department tremendously yesterday, as he gave the cleats he used to run the 40 yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis to a young Buckeyes fan named Brendan.

Brendan is a cancer survivor who is set to start playing youth football next year, and Decker took to Instagram to share his experience with him.

It just goes to show that though Decker is a star on the football field, he’s really just a man underneath the uniform and pads. He was under no obligation to meet with Brendan, but did anyway. Not only that, he gave him an item that could potentially be worthy of being showcased in the Hall of Fame someday, depending on how Decker’s career pans out.

Either way, Brendan will remember this experience forever and, as Decker said, can hopefully look forward to running the 40 at the Combine himself someday.
