Earlier this week, the state of Virginia was rocked with the news of rookie police officer Ashley Guindon being killed on her first shift with the Prince George County police department. At least one football player is doing his best to honor her in anyway he can.
Former Virginia Cavalier Maurice Canady is in Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine and he showed off his special way to honor Officer Guindon. He wrote a nice message on his cleats and it is truly a very special thing for him to do especially since his cousin, Alexus, is an officer at the same department.

It looks like he had the spirit of Officer Guindon on his side. He ran an unofficial 4.58 in the 40-yard dash Monday morning, which is nearly two seconds faster than he had intended on running.
Canady also announced that he will give one of the cleats to Guindon’s family and the other will be auctioned off in her honor. The proceeds will benefit her memorial fund.
