Tomorrow at 4 p.m. ET is the deadline for NFL teams to place the franchise or transition tags on players set to hit free agency. To make a long story short, teams are deciding to commit a ton of money to a certain player for one year or let him test the market and have the option to match any offers said player may receive.
It’s quite the financial decision, and NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport posted the exact numbers per position to Twitter.

And all of a sudden, we have an idea of what’s going through the minds of the Denver Broncos regarding Von Miller or how the Washington Redskins are looking at quarterback Kirk Cousins. Do they slap them with the franchise tag and look towards negotiating a long-term deal, or do they opt for the transition tag and allow other teams to get in on the negotiating.
Needless to say, the next couple of days are going to be interesting for some NFL teams.
