MLB spring training is underway, with the Philadelphia Phillies training in Clearwater, Florida and if you’re second-year third baseman Maikel Franco, it’s time to break out the checkbook.
That’s because during batting practice, Franco hit a long home run that cleared the fences at Bright House Field and hit the windshield of teammate Freddy Galvis’ car. Of course, a picture of the damage was posted to Twitter by Jim Salisbury of CSN Philly.

The good news is that Galvis had a good laugh about it, as a picture from Philadelphia photographer David Maialetti showed.

But the question remains, how did Galvis suffer such bad luck? Well, per Philly Voice, it all has to do with a parking space. Galvis was apparently running a few minutes late during the short drive from his place to the stadium, and his usual spot was taken. Sure enough, the rest is history.
The good news is that as MLB regulars, Galvis and Franco both have enough money and good enough auto insurance that this should be resolved painlessly.
