Ole Miss adds grad transfer LB Rommel Mageo

The Ole Miss Rebels are looking to compete in the SEC again this year and they bring in a lot of players to help them on both sides of the ball. Defensively, they lost big-name players like Robert Nkemdiche and Trae Elston, but they have just added on a big-time player from the PAC-12.

The Rebels announced on Wednesday that linebacker Rommel Mageo would be transferring for his final season of eligibility. He comes from Oregon State as a graduate transfer and will be able to play immediately in 2016.

In three seasons with the Beavers, Mageo started 20 games at middle linebacker and recorded 157 tackles and two interceptions. His 87 tackles led the team in 2015.

Mageo should end up being a big-time player for the Rebels in 2016. The team is hoping to compete in the SEC West and possibly get to their first SEC Championship Game in team history.
