Evaluator says Carson Wentz is ‘by far’ best QB in the draft

North Dakota State Bison quarterback Carson Wentz has been one of the most intriguing names in the 2016 draft class, with some going so far as to say he will be a Top 5 pick come April, and NFL Network’s Kimberly Jones has heard that’s definitely possible.

Speaking to a talent evaluator at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Jones reported that said evaluator thinks that Wentz is “by far” the best quarterback in the 2016 draft class.

That’s quite the statement, especially given how Cal’s Jared Goff has also drawn his fair share of buzz. On top of that, North Dakota State is a Division I-AA program and though Wentz has championship experience and dominated on that scene, there is sure to be some sort of learning curve due to the different level of competition.

But Wentz was still the most impressive quarterback at the Combine and proved many doubters wrong. If he can do that during training exercises, there’s little doubt that he’ll also impress at the NFL Draft.
