Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz nearly come to blows at UFC 196 presser

|

Well, that escalated quickly. At the end of Thursday’s UFC 196 pre-fight press conference, main event participants Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz nearly came to blows during their staredown.

As the two men stood face to face, McGregor made physical contact with Diaz by swatting the Stockton native’s fist.

After the incident, members of both fight camps jumped on the stage but security was able to get a hold of the situation before a brawl broke out.

Watch it all take place below:

Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz headline Saturday’s UFC 196 event live on pay-per-view. McGregor was initially slated to fight for the lightweight championship, but title holder Rafael dos Anjos pulled out just days in advance due to a broken foot. Diaz accepted the fight and the two agreed it will take place at welterweight.

In the co-main event, women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm makes her first title defense against top contender Miesha Tate.
