In the second edition of this series, we’ll focus on the National Hockey League’s protagonists and antagonists. Although hockey doesn’t seem to have as many polarized or prominently discussed players as the NFL, it certainly still has heroes and villains of the game.
It may even have more, since hockey has an unofficial position: the enforcer. A player whose main duty is to literally fight and protect his teammates, a position that certainly stirs up some strong emotions.
However, in this article, the heroes and villains we’ll focus on aren’t enforcers, but highly-skilled players with powerful personalities. Players that fans love to hate. As usual, we’ll start of with the winners, make note of our honorable mentions and give you a pair to watch out for in the future.
