Rob Gronkowski to host kids’ show on Nickelodeon

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has a big personality, so much that Nickelodeon wants to give him his own show. Per a statement from the network, via ESPN, Gronkowski is set to become the host of a new show called “Crashletes,” which will showcase “popular clips of sports action.”

Gronkowski knows all about that as the most dominant tight end in the NFL. On top of blocking when necessary and mowing down defenders, he has also taken his fair share of bumps. Joining him on Nickelodeon will be Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, who will host his own show called “All In.”

Both shows are part of Nickelodeon’s”shift away from a heavy emphasis in animation to different formats, including a focus on real kids,” per the AP.

I’ll say this much. If having Gronkowski host an action-sports show doesn’t increase Nickelodeon’s ratings, then something’s wrong. The man’s personality is perfect for such a show and though the format of it is still unknown, it’s going to be exciting to learn more, especially if it involves Gronkowski getting slimed.
