Rams RB Tre Mason arrested on drug charges, reckless driving

Los Angeles Rams running back Tre Mason has been arrested on drug charges as well as for reckless driving while in Florida, according to Miguel Melendez of USA Today.

Mason was arrested yesterday and formally charged with reckless driving, failure to register a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and possession of cannabis.

Just what happens next for Mason remains to be seen. Since being drafted in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft, out of Auburn, he has appeared in 25 games and rushed for 972 yards and five touchdowns while working primarily as a change of pace back.

It should also be noted that it is unknown if Mason was present at a recent meeting in Los Angeles that featured coach Jeff Fisher and a majority of the roster.

It hasn’t been implied that Mason’s time with the Rams is in jeopardy as a result of the arrest, but he could be subject to a fine or suspension under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
