Report: Texans expected to reach out to Brock Osweiler’s agent

On Wednesday, March 9, the NFL officially kicks off free agency.

However, over the course of the next 48 hours, we could begin seeing hints on potential landing spots for the top players available thanks to the league’s legal tampering period. During the legal tampering window, teams can reach out to agents to begin preliminary discussions and gauge interest.

One of those players expected to generate plenty of interest is Denver Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler.

According to Mike Klis of KUSA in Denver, the Houston Texans are expected to reach out to Osweiler’s agent prior to the official start of free agency.

“Houston is expected to contact Jimmy Sexton, Osweiler’s agent, during the tampering period,” Klis wrote.

It is certainly something to keep an eye on.

The Broncos are already set to lose starting quarterback Peyton Manning to retirement, so they are trying to keep Osweiler in town. Unfortunately, if the Texans come sweeping in with a large offer, the Broncos could find themselves without a proven quarterback and taken a big step backwards in 2016 after winning a Super Bowl to cap off last season.
