Cordell Broadus returning to UCLA football team

Cordell Broadus, a former four-star wide receiver in the Class of 2015 and son of rap sensation Snoop Dogg, will return to UCLA’s football team after walking away from it last summer, according to

Broadus, a former star at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, stated at the time that he was walking away from football to pursue a filmmaking career while remaining a student at UCLA. His return to the Bruins is not exactly a surprise, as he posted pictures of himself working out on Twitter and Instagram.

Broadus will thus be on the field come March 29, when UCLA is set to start spring practices, but his return to the team will be an uphill battle. He’ll have a walk-on status due to his forgoing his scholarship in walking away from the team last year, so he’ll have to work extra hard to earn his spot in coach Jim Mora’s offense.

But the young man is a hard worker and his former four-star status is a testament to that. If there’s anyone with the potential to wow the staff and earn a spot on the team, it’s Cordell Broadus.
