The Minnesota State High School Hockey tournament took place at the Xcel Energy Center last weekend, spurring a slew of viral videos (see the All Hockey Hair Team) including a post-game interview featuring the caption of state champions, the Wayzata Trojans.
The interview was so unique it was noticed by late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. Wayzata captain Mark Senden was interviewed, in tradition, by a local news station in wake of his team’s win and it’s clear this high school kid was pretty nervous about being on camera.
He constantly repeated the phrase “and everything like that,” in his recount of the monumental game. He used the phrase so often that Kimmel included a count-tracker alongside the video on his show.
The guy recorded nine, “and everything like that”s in his 30 second interview.
The excitement of being in a state tournament, especially one as popular as the Minnesota state boys hockey tournament, surely clouded his vernacular. Unfortunately for Senden, this type of interview, especially with national attention, should be a prime source of chirps for his boys.
Wayzata defeated conference rival Eden Prairie on March 5th to claim the state title.
