NFL free agency is about to be upon us, and as a consequence the rumor mill is a turnin’.
According to ESPN’s Vaughn McClure, the Falcons are showing interest in and have “inquired about” free agent Travis Benjamin. Benjamin has played for Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan back in 2014. The Falcons have a big hold to fill behind Julio Jones as Roddy White was released earlier this offseason.
To his benefit, Benjamin is at the top of a spectacularly weak NFL free agency class. He’s reportedly also drawn interest from the Texans.
The speedster out of Miami put up decent numbers for the Cleveland Browns last year, where he also was a return specialist. He caught 68 passes for 966 yards and five touchdowns.
Since he broke into the league in 2012, Benjamin has caught 109 balls for 1,683 yards and ten touchdowns.
