The Georgia Bulldogs are hoping to make a power play in South Florida.
With teams like the Michigan Wolverines looking to swoop into the South to steal talent and the Tennessee Volunteers sending out 20 offers to student-athletes from the same school, the Bulldogs have made a big move of their own by offering nine teammates from well-known high school football program St. Thomas Aquinas.
According to the Rivals.com report, the athletes offered are in the recruiting classes of 2017 through 2019.
Among the nine players are recruits with very familiar names like Asante Samuel, Al Blades and Benjamin Sapp. Samuel and Blades share their famous NFL fathers’ first names as well, while Sapp is the son of NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp.
If the Bulldogs are able to bring any of that talent to Athens, it would go a long way in helping new head coach Kirby Smart restore glory to “the G.”
