The Los Angeles Dodgers are winning the team chemistry race so far in MLB spring training, having just had an epic ping pong tournament in their clubhouse.
Sure enough, the Dodgers went all-out. They used a megaphone to introduce players with epic nicknames, with outfielder Scott Van Slyke being dubbed “Scott Van Smash,” and first baseman Adrian Gonzalez posted multiple videos of the ping pong action to Twitter.

It’s great to see the Dodgers doing this, even if they do have the highest payroll in baseball at $248.3 million and no World Series championships to show for it. New manager Dave Roberts is clearly putting a large emphasis on dugout harmony and a balance between work and play, and just look at how much those who aren’t playing ping pong are enjoying themselves watching Van Slyke and pitcher Brandon Beachy.
It’s still early and there are still 162 regular season games left to be played, but count on the Los Angeles Dodgers making a run at a championship this year if this is how life in the clubhouse is.
