Oklahoma point guard Buddy Hield is one of the best players in the country and he was recognized for it Thursday night. Hield had been named the Big 12 Player of the Year for the second consecutive season and he was presented his trophy before their tournament quarterfinal against Iowa State
However, Hield didn’t want to take all the credit on his own. He did what any great leader would do and invited his whole team out to center court to celebrate the award and it was pretty awesome.
The Sooners have been one of the best teams in the country this year and they will likely be a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament with a conference tournament championship win.
Buddy Hield has shown what it means to be a true leader and having his team celebrate an individual award like this is pretty awesome. Throughout the 2015-16 season, he has averaged 25.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, but he knows that it wouldn’t be possible without his team giving him all the chances in the world to do it.
