James Cook, brother of Dalvin, commits to Florida State

Florida State running back Dalvin Cook’s younger brother James, an elite running back recruit in the Class of 2019, has verbally committed to Florida State. James Cook made the announcement on his Twitter.

The younger Cook currently stars at Miami Central High School and is a surefire future five-star prospect. Despite his age and only being a freshman in high school, he had drawn interest from a number of top programs including Ohio State, Florida, Tennessee, Miami, LSU, Georgia and even defending national champion Alabama.

But James Cook will now instead head to Tallahassee, where his brother has starred for the past two years. Dalvin Cook has defined the Seminoles’ rushing attack since arriving on campus as a four-star talent in 2014. In that time, he has posted 2,699 yards and 27 touchdowns while also adding 46 receptions for 447 yards and one score.

Simply put, if good football genes run in the Cook family, James can make it as though his brother never left once he suits up in 2019.
