2016 NCAA Tournament: Winners and losers from Selection Sunday

Selection Sunday is just about in the books, and this year’s NCAA Tournament is going to be a barnburner for the ages. All four No. 1 seeds earned their status and with so many key mid-majors in the big dance this year, the games in 2016 should provide a great deal of fun for fans, players, coaches and everyone involved.

But not all teams in the tournament will wind up happy with their fate on Selection Sunday. Tough matchups were drawn and in some cases, teams just got flat-out burned be it from going up against a team that can beat them easily or getting a lower seeding than anticipated. It’s all part of the game, but it doesn’t mean that the squads involved need to like it.

That said, let’s take a look at this year’s Selection Sunday as a whole and take a look at the winners and losers from the biggest event prior to the First Four.
