The NCAA Tournament field was finalized Sunday night and the hype for March Madness has already began. That was pretty clear Monday morning with the Kansas City Star releasing an amazing front cover for their preview of the tournament.
The paper’s cover has a “Mad Max: Fury Road” theme to it and features the seven Big 12 teams who made the tournament trying to plow their way through the competition. This is a direct reference to the conference getting the most teams into the Big Dance alongside the ACC.
That is pretty awesome. The Big 12 landed a large number of teams in the tournament this year, including Kansas as the overall No. 1 seed and Oklahoma and West Virginia as No. 2 and No. 3 seeds respectively.
It should be an exciting tournament for all 68 teams involved and I am sure everyone around the country will be tuning in when the First Four tips off. That happens Tuesday night with Wichita State and Vanderbilt facing off as No. 11 seeds and Florida Gulf Coast and Fairleigh Dickinson squaring off at No. 16 seeds.
The Round of 64 tips off on Thursday with games to be played on TBS, TNT, CBS, and TruTV.
