Shane Ray has a tattoo of the Kansas City Chiefs despite playing for Broncos

|

Shane Ray was drafted in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft as a linebacker out of Missouri by the Denver Broncos. Ray is also from Kansas City, home of the Chiefs.

While this is a very common scenario for many NFL players – playing for your hometown’s rival team – it might not be so common to get your current employer’s division rival’s logo tattooed across your back. To be fair, Ray did get Sporting KC and the Royals’ logos inked on his back as well to complete the triumvirate of Kansas City sports teams.

Naturally there were some Denver fans who were not too understanding of Ray wanting to rep his city, and Ray gracefully addressed them on Twitter.

Listen people! I love the Broncos and I bleed orange and blue. Don't let a representation of pride and art upset you. Let's get this work 🐴

@X_RAYted56 if people don't understand then oh well. Us true Bronco fans know you give 110% so who cares. Rep your city. All good by me.

I have absolutely no problem with Ray’s choice in body art. Then again, who would be dumb enough to get into it with an NFL linebacker over their choice in tattoos?
