The Mark Richt era is officially underway in Coral Gables as the Miami Hurricanes football team has officially kicked off spring practice.
Spring football began on Tuesday morning and the Hurricanes celebrated the moment with a special video on their official Twitter account. The video showed Mark Richt walking out onto the Miami practice field leading the team for the first time as head coach.
It’s a reason for excitement throughout the program.

Richt comes to Miami after a long run with the Georgia Bulldogs.
During the offseason, Richt and UGA ultimately decided to mutually part ways after falling short in the SEC for yet another season but some fans were unhappy with the move. Now, Richt gets to show everyone at Miami why he was so beloved by the fan base.
We will see the first signs of improvement from Mark Richt’s Hurricanes when the team takes the field for its spring game on Saturday, April 16.
