Arizona Cardinals re-sign Chris Johnson`

After flirting with the idea of joining the Miami Dolphins, free agent running back Chris Johnson has decided to stick with the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Adam Schefter, the former first-round pick of the Tennessee Titans has signed a one-year contract to remain with Arizona.

The decision just made sense for both Johnson and the Cardinals. Johnson ran for 814 yards and three touchdowns for Arizona last year, and was a solid addition to a team looking for stability at the running back position. Being partnered with David Johnson in the backfield should give the Cardinals a continued one-two punch for the 2016 season, provided Chris Johnson can come back strong from the broken leg he suffered last year.

Financial details of the contract weren’t disclosed as of this posting.
