Chris Jones arrested for driving with a suspended license

Mississippi State defensive lineman and NFL Draft prospect Chris Jones was arrested yesterday after being pulled over for speeding and found to be driving with a suspended license, according to Michael Bonner of The Clarion Ledger.

Jones’ arrest occurred yesterday afternoon and his bond was set at $922, which he met, and he was later released.

Jones thus became the second former Bulldog to be arrested in Starkville in the past week, as quarterback and fellow NFL Draft prospect Dak Prescott was arrested for DUI last weekend.

The good news is that Jones, a former four-star prospect who went to high school in the Starkville area, should not see his draft stock slide as a result of his arrest. He has the size at 6-foot-5, 300 pounds and put together three strong seasons with the Bulldogs, plus the reason he was arrested is fairly tame. Thus, this probably won’t affect his future too much, if at all.
