One of the biggest names in women’s mixed martial arts fighting today is Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino. For a long time now, fans have wanted to see Cris Cyborg in the UFC and they might just get it soon.
According to multiple reports, UFC is wanting to book the Invicta FC fighter, who hasn’t lost a fight since she did so in her pro debut. Cyborg has expressed her interest in fighting for the company and now, they are possibly looking to book her for UFC 198.
UFC 198 will be taking place in the Invicta FC featherweight champion’s hometown of Curitiba, Brazil. She took to her website and talked about wanting to be on the show.
“This May the UFC will be promoting an event in my hometown of Curitiba, Brazil, a city very rich in fight history. It would be an honor to return back to the city I was born in, and to step inside of the Octagon with an opportunity to prove myself as one of the best female fighters in the sport.”
Sources apparently told MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani that the UFC is very close to booking Cyborg for the show. This opens up the possibility of having big-time fights in the near future of the company.
One fight fans have been dying to see is one between her and former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronday Rousey. Her and Cris Cyborg have had a very open and public feud in the past.
Bringing her in and possibly signing her to a contract could make a lot of UFC fans’ dreams come true.
