Illinois star guard Kendrick Nunn has been arrested and charged with domestic battery, according to a report from The News-Gazette.
Per the report, Nunn got into an argument with a woman Wednesday night and hit her in the back of the head. The argument was apparently over money.
As a result, Nunn becomes the fourth Illini player since August to be arrested. Teammate Jaylon Tate was arrested earlier this month, also on domestic battery charges, while Leron Black was arrested in February for pulling a knife on a bouncer. Over the summer, Darius Paul was arrested in France for public intoxication.
Thus caps another forgettable season for Illinois, who missed out on the NCAA Tournament once again this year. The Illini have not made the NCAA Tournament for the last three years and have not made a deep run since getting to the national championship game under Bruce Weber in 2005.
The university has not commented on Nunn’s arrest, but stay tuned to Campus Sports for further updates on this story!
