Derrick Henry, Keenan Reynolds are finalists for Sullivan Award

Reigning Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry could soon be adding another piece of hardware to his trophy case. On Friday, it was announced that the Alabama Crimson Tide star running back and Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds were named the finalists for the Sullivan Award.

The Sullivan Award is awarded annually to the top amateur athlete in all amateur sports.

While Henry and Reynolds have a handful of deserving finalists still in the mix, it would not be a surprise to see either of the top college football stars bring home the award.

In three of the past four years, a college football player has won the Sullivan Award.

The past four winners of the award have been Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott, Penn State offensive lineman John Urschel, Olympic swimmer Missy Franklin, and Army’s Andrew Rodriguez.

If Derrick Henry does claim the award, he can rest it comfortably next to his Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Award, Doak Walker Award and the Walter Camp Award.
