Bracket Busted: Middle Tennessee shocks Michigan State, 90-81

The Michigan State Spartans were picked by many analysts to make the Final Four and possibly the national championship game. However, the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders had something to say about that with a big upset over the Spartans.

The Blue Raiders came into the game as a No. 15 seed and looking to win their first game in the NCAA Tournament since 1989. They did just that by dominating and never trailing the Spartans with a 90-81 victory.

Reggie Upshaw had a huge game as he scored 21 points and recorded four rebounds and four assists. Giddy Potts also added on 19 points and five rebounds in the big win.

The Blue Raiders will now play for their first ever Sweet Sixteen appearance when they meet up with the Syracuse Orange on Sunday. This guarantees that a double-digit will make the Sweet Sixteen this year.

This also moves the higher-seeded teams’ record to 11-10 in the tournament this year.
