Even the Wichita State mascot gets frisked at arenas

The NCAA doesn’t play around when it comes to their security at the NCAA Tournament. Meanwhile, the Wichita State Shockers are looking to pull off another big upset when they face off against the Miami Hurricanes in the Round of 32.

As the team entered the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, the Shocker mascot was stopped as he passed through the metal detector. Even he had to be frisked along with the hundreds of other fans that made their way into the arena.

You never know who is inside those costumes, so this is probably a good thing that the NCAA is so thorough with their checks. At least Wichita State knows that their mascot is going to be on the sidelines with his crazy antics.

The Shockers and Hurricanes tip off the Round of 32 at 12:15 p.m. EST on CBS.
