Stone Cold Steve Austin wishes Stephen F. Austin ‘best of luck’

|

The No. 14 Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks reached out to none other than former WWE Superstar Stone Cold Steve Austin and invited him to their second-round game against No. 6 Notre Dame at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center tomorrow.

Sure enough, after receiving the ‘Jacks’ message on Twitter, the Texas Rattlesnake was sure to respond.

Unfortunately, he won’t be able to make it.

Hey @steveaustinBSR – if you're in Brooklyn on Sunday, we'll save a seat for you. #AxeEm #MarchMadness

@SFA_MBB I'm busy fighting crime on the mean streets of LA right now. Congrats on a helluva win and best of luck!! #HELLYEAH!

Offer always stands @steveaustinBSR. We'd be happy to have you. #AxeEm #MarchMadness https://t.co/2Q194eJ0wo

Though Stone Cold won’t be at Stephen F. Austin’s game tomorrow, fans can count on the Lumberjacks playing aggressively, just as Austin did during his wrestling career. Stephen F. Austin has won the Southland three years in a row under coach Brad Underwood , ranked 21st in the nation in scoring and ranked 13th in points allowed.

Needless to say, Stephen F. Austin is better than their seeding suggests and given their apt name, don’t be shocked if their marching band plays Stone Cold’s theme song tomorrow.

Tip-off is slated for 2:40 p.m. ET on CBS tomorrow, so be sure to tune in.
