Arizona Wildcats coach Sean Miller could be in line to succeed Jamie Dixon at Pitt if a report from Rich Walsh of CBS Pittsburgh is true.
Per Walsh’s report, Miller is in Pittsburgh hammering out final details of the contract that Pitt has offered him. The turnaround for a new hire has been fairly quick, as Dixon accepted the same job at his alma mater Texas Christian yesterday after going 328-123 in 13 years in the Steel City.
And Miller could wind up being a perfect hire for Pitt, who have struggled to establish themselves as a regular team to beat since moving to the fast-paced ACC in 2013. Miller runs an offense that could easily keep up in the conference and owns a career record of 307-108 across time with Xavier and Arizona, the latter of which he has coached since 2009 and led to back-to-back Elite Eights in 2014 and 2015.
Moving from Arizona to Pitt would arguably be more of a lateral move for Sean Miller as opposed to a step up, but stay tuned to Campus Sports for further updates on this story!
