LeBron James says he’d ‘quit basketball’ if he played for UNI

Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James recently spoke to reporters about Texas A&M’s epic comeback victory over Northern Iowa in the NCAA Tournament last weekend and said today that he would “quit basketball” had he played for UNI.

Video of James’ comments were posted to Twitter by T.J. Zuppe of local radio station 92.3 The Fan.

Granted, James was definitely joking, but just imagine what was probably going through the minds of the Panthers after that loss. Keep in mind that Northern Iowa led Texas A&M by 12 points with less than a minute to go, but blew the lead and lost in double-overtime due to running out of timeouts and strong defense form the Aggies.

But the point of the story is this. Bad losses happen. It’s just part of playing the game. Still, if LeBron James comments on such a loss saying that he’d quit playing if that ever happened to him, you know your team messed up BADLY.
