Laquon Treadwell drawing interest from Dallas, Cleveland, others

Former Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell is expected to have multiple suitors as the countdown to next month’s NFL Draft continues, and a few teams have been courting him more than others.

In an interview with Mike Florio of NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk, Treadwell listed a few teams that had “shown interest in visiting him” before the draft. Those four are the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals.

Each of those teams could wind up being a fine destination for Treadwell, who left Ole Miss with 202 career receptions for 2,393 yards and 21 touchdowns. Chicago could use another young receiver to place alongside last year’s first-round pick Kevin White, who missed all of 2015 with a leg injury, and Cincinnati needs a receiver to help fill the voids left by Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu, both of whom left via free agency. In terms of Cleveland, well, that team needs all the help it can get.

The real wild card here is Dallas, who owns the No. 4 pick in the draft. Treadwell is talented, but is definitely something of a reach at No. 4. Thus, if Dallas does indeed have its heart set on drafting him, odds are greater than none that they’ll trade down.

Either way, Laquon Treadwell is proving to be an in-demand name, so stay tuned to Campus Sports for further updates on his path to the NFL!
