Chicago Cubs got to hang with actual cubs

The Chicago Cubs are currently having spring training in Mesa, Arizona, but received a break from actual training when they got to hang out with some actual cubs. Yes, as in literal baby bears.

Multiple pictures of the Cubs players and their little furry friends were posted to Twitter and, as can be seen, some players just couldn’t handle the cuteness.

As can be seen in the pictures below, first baseman Anthony Rizzo seemed to enjoy the cubs very much.

Hats off to manager Joe Maddon, who continues to establish himself as the hippest manager in MLB today. Keep in mind that there are multiple ways that teams can enjoy a break from the grind of spring training, like a team outing for a meal or even a day trip somewhere, but Maddon decided to tap into everyone’s inner child by bringing in furry baby animals.

The experience seems to have worked quite effectively, as this Cubs team appears closer than ever after making the NLCS last season.
