Su’a Cravens drawing ‘scary interest’ from Panthers?

The Carolina Panthers have shown “scary interest” in USC linebacker/safety Su’a Cravens, according to a post by draft guru Tony Pauline on WalterFootball.

Cravens, who currently measures at 6-foot-1, 225 pounds, would certainly be an intriguing prospect in Carolina. Keep in mind that the Panthers last year drafted linebacker/safety hybrid Shaq Thompson out of Washington, ultimately using him in a hybrid role.

That said, who’s to say that Cravens couldn’t serve a similar role for the Panthers? Keep in mind that the former four-star recruit from the Riverside area left the Trojans with 207 tackles to go with 10.5 sacks and even nine interceptions. Cravens also had 16 pass breakups and four forced fumbles.

Thus, on numbers alone, he is quite the intriguing draft prospect.

And Carolina could actually wind up being a perfect fit for a prospect like Su’a Cravens. So long as Ron Rivera is head coach, defense is going to be the name of the game for the Panthers even with a great quarterback like Cam Newton under center.
