Jalen Ramsey cemented draft status at Pro Day

Jalen Ramsey confirmed that he would indeed be a Top 5 pick in next month’s NFL Draft as he completely aced position drills at Florida State’s pro day today. Josh Newburg of 247 Sports took to Twitter and posted a number of videos of Ramsey doing what he does best.

Ramsey also grabbed the attention of Matt Miller, Bleacher Report’s resident NFL Draft guru. Sure enough, Miller gave Ramsey a special kind of praise.

Jalen Ramsey makes it all look easy. Super fluid, tough, aggressive DB. My top overall player.

But the most interesting tweets came from Matt Baker of The Tampa Bay Times, who mentioned a specific team in attendance at Ramsey’s pro day.

Given how the Tennessee Titans own the first overall pick in the draft, for them to pick Ramsey would be quite a swerve. All signs have pointed to them drafting Ole Miss tackle Laremy Tunsil at the top, but Ramsey’s overall athleticism could force GM Jon Robinson’s hand.

Keep in mind that Ramsey is a special type of defensive back who can play both corner and safety, and he also ran track at Florida State, so well that he considered trying out for the upcoming Summer Olympics. In three years with the Seminoles, he had 181 tackles to go with three interceptions, 22 pass breakups and four forced fumbles, plus five sacks.

Needless to say, with the NFL Draft just a few weeks away, Jalen Ramsey’s name is going to be one to watch closely.
