J.P. Macura charged with misdemeanors

Xavier sophomore guard J.P. Macura has been charged with disorderly conduct and “obstructing official police business” after “knowingly” dropping his pants at a bar he used a fake ID to get into, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer.

The 2o-year-old Macura could soon find himself in a great deal of hot water, especially since he is just 20 years old. Granted, a majority of college kids are going to find ways to get around the law and drink while underage, but Macura is a public figure and is thus held to a higher standard than others. It seems unlikely that Musketeers coach Chris Mack would dismiss the Big East’s reigning Sixth Man of the Year from the program for what is truly a minor infraction, but nothing is guaranteed at this point.

If anything, Macura, who averaged 9.4 points per game while shooting 47 percent from the field and 36 percent from long range in 2015-16, could be looking at a suspension from either the team or the university at the very least.
