Michigan coach John Beilein announced via a written statement that he would remove all transfer restrictions for graduate transfer Spike Albrecht and forward Ricky Doyle.

Albrecht announced his intentions to transfer earlier this week, as he redshirted last season to undergo hip surgery and was told by Beilein that Michigan was over-recruited and that there was no spot on the roster for him. Thus, when it was learned that the devoted soldier would not be able to transfer to wherever he pleased, there was some public outcry.
But that is now a thing of the past. Beilein has learned from his mistake (not to mention the ridiculous policies of some schools not letting players transfer to another program within the same conference), so here’s hoping that Albrecht and Doyle land on their feet at programs where they will be welcomed with open arms.
