Urban Meyer ‘treated me like crap,’ says Kentucky signee

Kentucky signee Landon Young, a four-star offensive lineman from Lexington, recently sat down with David Collier of SEC Country and gave up some interesting news. While on a visit to Ohio State, Young claims that he was treated “like crap” by Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer.

Young detailed how he sat down with Meyer on a visit to the campus while already committed to Kentucky, but mentioned how he was “keeping options open” at that point. Meyer then allegedly went on to say that Young was an “insubstantial tackle” at 6-foot-7, 270 pounds and thus an “insubstantial player” committed to an “insubstantial school” in Kentucky.

This is certainly surprising, as Meyer’s personality is one that comes off as very laid back and approachable. To imagine him saying something negative about anybody is hard to do.

Still, Young was there and we were not, so who are we to say he isn’t telling the truth? By the same token, however, this is the first that any recruit has said such a thing about Urban Meyer, so be sure to stay tuned to Campus Sports for any further updates if any others come out of the woodwork!
