Former Florida State star and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston is so excited at the idea of playing on the same team as cornerback and former teammate Jalen Ramsey that he’s willing to take a pay cut in order to make that happen, according to Pewter Report.
“We (FSU) definitely have the best player in the world in Jalen Ramsey,” Winston said “People talk about his position. But Jalen is the best cornerback, safety… I will take a pay cut to play with him again. He has a fierce mentality. And the best thing about him is he is a Seminole! I have already shot him (Jason Licht) some texts.”
Ramsey’s potential pay grade is definitely something to consider, as he is sure to be a Top 5 pick and Tampa Bay owns the ninth overall selection. That means that that the Bucs would have to pay a king’s ransom and then some to wrest any of those spots in the draft, namely the No. 1 overall pick owned by the Tennessee Titans, in order to even have a remote shot at Ramsey.
Thus, though the possibility is fun to think about, Jalen Ramsey and Jameis Winston probably won’t be teammates in 2016.
